The role of the motorcycle clutch is to transfer the power of the engine to the transmission and to cut off the power transmission between the engine and the transmission when necessary.
 
If the clutch is faulty, the car will feel a variety of disobedience, some of the combination is not smooth, some start to worry, some separation does not empty the file easy to turn off, and some slip only listen to the engine roar but not fast!
 
Some time ago we explained the overrunning clutch and the primary clutch. Today we will talk about the inspection and maintenance of the secondary clutch.
 
For curved beam motorcycles, the main function of the secondary clutch is to make shifting more convenient and avoid damage to the shifting mechanism (cam, shift fork, gear main and auxiliary shaft).
 
The secondary clutch is mounted on the shifting spindle and functions to transmit the power output from the primary clutch to the main and auxiliary shafts of the transmission, the shifting of the secondary clutch, the disconnection of the secondary clutch, and the transmission of power between the transmission and the primary clutch.
 
The installation position of the secondary clutch is mounted on the shifting spindle; it is a secondary clutch spring seat and a spring seat fixing screw;
 
Use a T-shaped socket wrench to remove the secondary clutch spring seat fixing screw in the diagonal direction; use the round nut to disassemble the special tool and remove the secondary clutch to fix the round nut, as shown below.
 
The clutch friction plate is mounted in the driven gear assembly; the outer structure of the secondary gear driven gear assembly;
 
 
Check the degree of clutch wear, mainly using a caliper to detect the thickness of the clutch friction plate. For the thickness of the test? Because the friction plate is constantly worn!
 
The standard value of the friction plate thickness is 2.9~3.0 mm, the maintenance limit is 2.6 mm, the friction plate is worn and deformed, and the clutch active piece and the driven piece should be replaced.
 
The maintenance limit of the clutch follower thickness is 2.6mm, and the warpage limit is 0.2mm.
 
Clutch spring, measure the free length of the clutch spring, determine the amount of spring deformation (spring free length standard value 25.5mm. When the spring deformation, the free length of the four springs are inconsistent, should be replaced.
 
Measure the inner and outer diameters of the clutch bushing and check the amount of wear on the clutch bushing. Use a caliper (inner diameter ruler) to detect the inside of the clutch bushing (standard value, 21.02-21.04mm, maintenance limit, 21.09mm); measure the outer diameter of the clutch bushing (standard value, 20.959-20.980mm, maintenance limit, 20.91mm) . .
 
Note: When the clutch bush wear amount approaches the limit value, replace it after finding out the cause of wear. Otherwise, abnormal wear and noise are generated in the secondary clutch gear, the main shaft, etc. due to the bushing problem.
